The United Way's Kay Clint Fund provides one time start-up funding for new and innovative programs that address emerging problems in our community.

Innovative Programs

In 1963 the United Way established a special program to stimulate new, creative, or experimental programs to address unmet or emerging social needs. In 1989 this program was renamed to honor the United Way's Executive Director, Kay Clint, who served our community from 1974 to 1988.

The Kay Clint Fund is separate and distinct from the United Way's annual campaign. It offers an alternative opportunity to interested donors who wish to contribute to future needs of the community through a capital fund donation.

The fund consists of a general fund, which combines gifts from various donors, and a designated fund, which honors specific areas of interest for donors of gifts over $1,000.

Applications are accepted throughout the year. Please complete and return the application form to the United Way of Washington County-East office, attention John Baird.

your support changes lives

It's Never 2 Late: This adapted technology system allows seniors to use technology to connect with family and friends, learn computer skills and even do therapy at their own pace. With a web cam and computer system, residents of Good Samaritan Society in Stillwater and community seniors now have access to the internet and the world.

Community Volunteer Neighborhood Exchange: People are brought together to share skills and needs. Examples: an elderly woman received a massage, recreational equipment is repaired by a volunteer seamstress. Exchanges are recorded and distributed to individual participants monthly along with updated lists of talents and needs.

Stillwater Schools Wellness Center:
All students at the Stillwater Area High School have access to mental health, chemical health, nutrition and health education services. These programs encourage students to make healthy lifestyle choices which will improve their health and well-being and maximize their educational opportunities and future potential.

Strive Program: Encourages high school students that rank at the bottom of their class to improve grades during their senior year. The goals are to help students develop a more positive attitude about education and a brighter outlook for their future as citizens of our community.
