Youth United Way - Our Future
The Youth United Way provides local youth with the chance to develop and build teamwork and leadership skills. The Youth United Way unleashes the talents of high school aged young people who work as a team to raise money and serve our community. They elect their own officers, develop their own policies and select and tackle issues that they decide are important.
"It's an awesome opportunity to develop leadership skills and make decisions that positively impact our community". We help a lot of people, and it's very rewarding."
Events like the Empty Bowls Dinner and the Silent Art Auction are always a priority, raising the funds needed for local programs that alleviate hunger and serve youth. Students in grades 8-12 are always invited to join the Youth United Way!
You are the future. Embrace it.
Call the United Way office at 651-439-3838.
Meetings are held twice monthly on Mondays, after school hours, typically from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Call 651-439-3838 for the next meeting date and location, or click the link above. Feel free to attend and bring a friend.
Our Events & Our Group
It has become a rite of Spring. Every March, the Youth United Way hosts the Empty Bowls fundraiser. For $20, you get a bowl of soup, donated from one of our wonderful local restaurants, and an empty donated pottery bowl, to remind you that there are still so many hungry people in our community.
This year's event broke a record with more than $4,100 in support of our local Valley Outreach food shelf.
If you'd like to join Youth United Way this fall, please call Marna in our office at 651-439-3838.
