Empty Bowls 2023

The Empy Bowls Event is put on by United Way's YOUTH Untied Group and it is intended to raise awareness of hunger. Attendees buy a meal of soup and bread and can buy ceramic bowls hand-crafted by local artists. The money raised is allocated to local agencies to benefit youth and hunger programs.

“The soup and bread serve as a simple meal to enjoy at the event, and the pottery bowls go home with the guests as a continual reminder of the empty bowls in our community,” said Lois Conn, officer manager for United Way of Washington County-East. “It helps to remind our guests that hunger exists everywhere, even here in our Stillwater area community.”
