Director of Public Health and Environment, Washington County
David (Dave) Brummel is the current Director of Public Health and Environment at Washington County. Brummel's 20+ year career in local government includes experience in both Washington and Hennepin counties in a variety of positions, including Community Health Worker, Planning Analyst, Senior Administrative Assistance, and Program Supervisor. His career began in the Peace Corps as a public health extension volunteer in the island nation of the Republic of Kiribati. He most recently served as the Deputy Director in Washington County since August 2014.
Brummel joined the United Way of Washington County-East Board in 2022 and in January 2026 assumed the role of President Elect serving a 18-month term, then will step into President role.
