Michael Wilhelmi serves as the company's representative in over 50 communities in Washington County and Chisago County for Xcel Energy as their Community Relations Manager. In his role, he collaborates with elected officials, city and county staff, customers, businesses, and nonprofit community organizations. He works to solve problems and build partnerships in support of Xcel Energy's mission to serve its gas and electric customers with reliable, affordable, and carbon-free energy.
He is a veteran public engagement leader with over 25 years of experience as a strategic communicator, advocate, and problem-solver. He fosters mutually beneficial partnerships with stakeholders to achieve shared goals and create value for organizations and communities.
Mike has lived in the St. Croix Valley for over 25 years, enjoying the history, cultural amenities and hospitality of river communities. Married and the father of two adult children, he is a 10-year Veteran of the US Navy Reserve Seabees.
Mike joined the United Way of Washington County-East board in 2023. Also serves on the following boards: Woodbury Area Chamber of Commerce, Hugo Business Alliance, and Organizing Committee of the World Snow Celebration. He is a former board member of the Washington County Historical Society and graduate of the Greater Stillwater Chamber's Leadership in the Valley program.
