Stuff the Bus : 2021

Stuff the Bus
With the cost of sending a child back to school being so high, Community Thread and United Way of Washington County – East recognize the importance of helping all kids succeed by providing them with the basic tools needed to start the year off right; whether that be in-class or through distance learning.

Below you will find details on how you can help students in the Stillwater Area School District have a great start to the school year.

July 6 – August 12, Monday – Friday from 9am-4pm. View school supplies needed.

Families can receive school supplies for their children. Supplies will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
Registration will open online on July 26 at 9am and close on August 9 at 12pm.

For no-contact curbside pick-up families may register on the Community Thread Website

Stuff the Bus allows volunteers to make a difference in many ways. School supplies will need to be sorted and counted, each family’s list for each child needs to be assembled and bagged, and lastly, we will need volunteers to run bags, check in and monitor traffic on the pick up days.

Volunteer as an individual, family or team. Volunteers must be 8 years of age or older for counting Volunteer STBand sorting, and 18 years of age or older for supply list shopping & assembling and curbside pick-up.

Volunteers needed August 12th - August 20th

Starting May 18, and following CDC and State of MN guidance, we will no longer require masks in our building.  However, Community Thread along with the Minnesota Department of Health and the CDC strongly recommend that anyone who is NOT fully vaccinated continue to wear face coverings indoors in businesses and public settings. Here at Community Thread, we know everyone has a different comfort level.  We respect your decision on mask-wearing and ask that you do the same with others. Masks are welcomed.

Call Community Thread’s Volunteer Center at 651-439-7434 or United Way of Washington County – East at 651-439-3838.
